Chapter 7 Synopsis:

In episode 7 of Raising the Bar 4, we witness first-hand the Kai Greene we’ve never seen on camera before: shy, nervous, reclusive. In-depth interviews reveal Kai and coach Oscar Arden’s changed perspectives on their own story as they watch the completed documentary Kai Greene: Overkill for the very first time.

We witness the power of editing and storytelling and catch a rare glimpse of the often uncomfortable intimacy that can be an inherent part of making a documentary.

Yet more complications arise as Mike Pulcinella continues to film Victor Martinez who, while still toiling to overcome a debilitating knee injury, must now endure the loss of his father, and later, the brutal and horrific murder of his sister.

The harshest realities of life bombard Victor as he struggles to reignite his bodybuilding career despite what seems to be an endless series of tragedies.

How Victor copes with all of this is explored in powerful interviews with Dave Pulcinella, Victor, and others who reveal just how interconnected bodybuilding and life are, and how tragedies and hardships can be transformed into motivation and passion.
