Cancer fighting foods: Green smoothie; Anti-Cancer diet

This refreshing smoothie – which can also be served as a chilled soup! – brims with healthy ingredients: arugula (a member of the cancer-fighting brassica family), lamb’s lettuce (which contains omega-3 fatty acids), avocado (rich in anti-oxidant vitamin E and healthy monounsaturated fats), apples (containing anti-cancer polyphenols), ewe’s milk yoghurt (provides protein and beneficial bacteria for a healthy gut), cucumber (antioxidants in the peel), and finally, some chilli (containing capsaicin, which is throught to trigger self-destruction in some cancer cells — though careful, if eaten in excess, chillies can trigger an inflammatory response) and ground sesame seeds (lignans, calcium). Phew! Plus, it’s delicious, with just the right balance between sweetness and herbaceous spice. Enjoy!
