When you are trying to conceive, the last thing you want to do is something that could hurt your chances of getting pregnant. You want to get pregnant and maybe even quickly. There are some things that women make the mistake of doing that can actually hurt their chances of getting pregnant. In result, it may take longer than expected to get pregnant. Here are a few mistakes women make that are trying to conceive.

Mistake #1 – They do not time intercourse around ovulation. Many of women trying to conceive will just have a bunch of intercourse hoping to get pregnant. Its doesn’t take a bunch of random sex to get pregnant. It is better to time sex around ovulation, the most fertile period. By doing this, a woman can improve her chances of getting pregnant, rather than wasting a bunch of effort on having sex so much and possibly missing the day when an egg was released to be fertilized. An egg can only live for around 12-24 hours and it gets released once a month, so when you miss this important window, your chances of getting pregnant goes down dramatically.

Mistake #2 – They have too much sex. It makes since to have sex if you are trying to conceive but too much sex can actually hurt your chances of getting pregnant instead of helping. Having too much intercourse lowers the amount of sperm and its quality. In order for sperm to be able to reach and fertilize an egg, it has to be able to move quickly and there has to be a good number of sperm so that the chances of getting pregnant is higher.

Mistake #3 – They do not pay attention to their health or lifestyle. Sometimes when a woman is trying to conceive, they may get all caught in the actual process and forget the little things which could improve their chances of getting pregnant. Paying close attention to their health situation and making some healthy lifestyle changes can do a lot of good. Did you know that too much consumption of caffeine can actually hurt your chances of getting pregnant? There is also stress, being overweight, eating unhealthy foods, exercising too much, smoking, drinking alcohol among others that hurts the chances of a woman conceiving.

There are also some health conditions that could really hurt the chances of a woman getting pregnant such as certain STD’s, not ovulating, blocked fallopian tubes, ovarian cysts, and others. The more you learn about your health, the easier and faster it will be to get pregnant because you can possibly fix it earlier on making the chances of getting pregnant increase again.

Try not to make these mistakes when you are trying to conceive, especially if you want to get pregnant quickly. It’s all about improving your chances of getting pregnant and not hurting them.
