How to Take Care of Your Financial Health During These Uncertain Times | Money Tips & Resources
Learn tips and resources to keep your financial health sound and limit financial stress that impacts your health. Your financial health can impact your wellness in multiple ways,. During this time of uncertainty I am sharing with you 6 financial money tips to help you weather this trying financial storm. Money Tip:
1. Focus 50% of your current budget on essentials (food & shelter)
consider peak prep will put us into needing necessities for 6-8-12 weeks.
Buy normal food items
Focus on stocking up on frozen, non perishables, pasta
Nut Butters
Shortage items you will want to get supplies on: medications, medical supplies
Inventory your budget and cut ALL non-essential expenses (memberships, cable, etc)
2. Forbearance
Identify the budgetary items that you can call (you have to actively call & ask) and activate monthly or 60-90 day forebearance – pushing payment due dates out:
-loans
-auto
-credit card
-mortgage
-insurance
-student loans
-utilities
-internet
3. Assess if cashing out of non-retirement accounts is an option
4. Sell items you don’t use, don’t wear and don’t need . (increases income and money coming into your home to create a cash emergency fund)
-sell on ebay
-sell on poshmark & mercari
-sell on Facebook Marketplace with porch pickup and money exchange via paypal, venmo, cash apps
-sell books on amazon
5. Get working again – consider contract gigs
