Candied Yam Persimmons Raw Vegan Recipe Cara Brotman healthy holiday food

The first of the healthy holiday food series, here is a fun easy alternative to candied “yams”, using persimmons instead of yams. Nothing wrong with yams, but we like the creative challenge of finding raw vegan alternatives to cooked food, using only low heat to warm or dehydrate. Yams are great but they can’t be softened without high heat, so in this video, Cara Brotman shows how to use persimmons instead to get a similar look and fun taste experience with fresh soft coconut meat used as an alternative to little marshmallows.
