Bats Tolerate Coronavirus, Here's How + Lessons for us Humans


Duke University researcher, Lin-Fa Wang, PhD and others have been studying how other mammals like bats can coexist with coronaviruses (including SARS-COV) with little to no fatal consequences.

It appears that bats have a powerful and early immune response (interferon) followed by throttling back their immune system via inhibiting the NLRP3 inflammasome [which prevents the cytokine storm that’s often lethal to us humans].
