We damage the mantel of our skin in more ways than we think. Simply by washing our face, we disturb the pH balance, which could lead to discoloration and dry skin. A routine dead sea mud mask treatment replenishes the skin with nutrients we lose throughout the day. Because of it’s high mineral content, mud masks are a nourishing treatment for healthy skin.

You probably think of it as a facial treatment, but don’t stop there! Dead sea mud masks can also be applied to your scalp and the length of your hair. We’ll look at the benefits and see why it should include it as a hair care staple.

Hair and Skin Benefits Dead Sea Mud Masks

Silky Skin

The natural ingredients within the mud are defenders against acne, psoriasis, eczema, scarring and discoloration. The result of a dead sea mud mask lighten the skin, eliminating discoloration. It’s moisturizing enough to treat eczema with consistent treatments. The minerals activate the flow of oxygen, which in turn stimulates the nutrients within your skin.

A friend of mine routinely used this mask as a facial treatment to clear up her acne. Hesitant at first, she was soon surprised to find how quickly her acne was reduced. According to her, the treatment made her skin glow. She stopped using it regularly simply because she no longer needed it. The result of dead sea mud masks are long lasting.

To keep the glow alive, she still uses it once every two weeks.

How to Use

1. When you receive the dead sea mud mask, the sea water will most often separate from the mud. Stir until you reach a smooth consistency.

2. Apply a small amount with the cushion of your fingertips in a circular motion. Do this until your entire face is covered. Start at the bottom and work your way up. Note: if you apply too much mud, it won’t harden properly. Use discreetly.

3. Leave the mud on for roughly 15 minutes, or until mud hardens. An indicator that the mud is hardening is when your entire face tightens.

4. Rinse thoroughly in the shower.

The changes are immediate after your first application. Lines will decrease, skin will lighten, and scarring from acne may improve. It’s a treatment that will illicit clear, healthy skin. As for the “glow” my friend always mentions, I can only attribute this to the potpourri of vitamins and minerals that also create a “silken touch”.

Hair Benefits

You’ve seen the commercials where a model’s face is covered in mud. But her hair is also coated in mud and wrapped at the crown of her head. Have you ever asked yourself, “What’s that stuff doing on her hair?”

That’s a good question. Now here’s the answer.

Dead sea mud masks, when applied to the scalp, can strengthen hair roots. It’s enriched with over 26 minerals that nourish your hair and stimulate growth. If you suffer from scabs or dandruff, many of these minerals help to prevent dryness. Used regularly, dead sea mud masks can treat a number of scalp irritants.

You can also apply it to the length of your hair. The iron in dead sea mud strengthens hair, while the potassium adds and maintains moisture. Women with curly hair often suffer from dry hair because the natural oils from their scalp don’t travel down to their tresses. This treatment is highly advised for such hair textures.

With a 20 minute treatment, dead sea mud masks will add moisture and remove toxic matters and impurities. You can do this once a week for an at-home spa treatment, or however often you desire. Dead sea mud mask is gentle enough to use daily. If you use it everyday, just follow up with a light leave-in conditioner.
