Using a vitamin for acne can be effective. There are numerous clinical examples which show that using a vitamin such as vitamin a for acne can be a helpful and effective treatment.
Vitamin for Acne – Vitamin A
Large quantities of vitamin A for acne (up to 500,000 IU per day) have been used successfully to treat severe acne. But taking vitamin A at those levels can be quite toxic.
So vitamin A acne treatment is not recommended as a typical treatment for acne and should be taken only under the supervision of a health professional, if at all.
With normal vitamin A acne treatment, the acne will return several months after you stop taking this vitamin for acne. Vitamin A for acne is more effective and permanent when utilised as derivative forms in treatments such as Retin-A.
Vitamin B5 for Acne
A clinical trial using vitamin B5 for acne (pantothenic acid) was successful. People with acne were given 2.5 grams of pantothenic acid four times a day, which is a lot! With moderate acne, near-complete relief was seen within two months. Cream containing 20% pantothenic acid vitamin for acne was also used in this trial.
Vitamin B3 for Acne – Niacinamide for Acne
Vitamin B3 niacinamide for acne has been found to be substantially beneficial as a vitamin for acne. This was demonstrated in a double-blind clinical trial lasting two months where a 4% niacinamide gel was applied twice per day. 4% niacinamide gel for acne was found to be of comparable efficacy to the antibiotic clindamycin in the treatment of acne.
Zinc for Acne
Clinical studies have shown that a biologically active zinc supplement, as well as a good acne vitamin, also reduces the severity of acne. In one study, zinc for acne was found to be as effective as oral antibiotic therapy. People with acne should take 30 mg of zinc for acne two or three times per day for a few months, then 30 mg per day thereafter. It may take up to twelve weeks before any improvement is seen.
