How to Boost Hair Follicle Growth
Hair growth is determined by how you treat your hair follicles. Anything that promotes hair follicle growth also increases hair growth. How then can you boost hair growth?
There are many ways of boosting hair follicle growth one such way is to ensure that all the essential nutrients that are required by the hair follicles are made available through the food. A diet that promotes growth of hair must contain a rich supply of vitamins, proteins, fatty acids and iron. In order to ensure that you get these nutrients it will be ideal to eat fish, meat, liver, cheese, eggs, carrots, broccoli and fruits. These foods ensure that you get all the essential vitamins, fatty acids and amino acids which are required in the growth of hair.
Once you have made sure that you have put in place all the necessary nutrition for follicular growth, it is now time to make sure that all that nutrition gets to hair. You can make sure that nutrients find their way towards hair through exercise. Exercise increases the amount of blood flow to the extremities of the body. When you exercise sections of the body such as the scalp will receive more blood per unit time as compared to a person that does not exercise. This increases the amount of oxygen and nutrients reaching hair follicles thus allowing them to grow. Exercise also improves digestion by increasing blood flow around the gut. This increases the efficiency of the gut in absorbing nutrients from food. Exercise also increases the total oxygen in blood this will also mean higher amounts of oxygen reaching hair which increases follicular growth.
Drugs can also stimulate follicular growth. Certain drugs such as minoxidil can be used to boost follicle growth. When applied on the scalp minoxidil dilates blood vessels supplying hair thus increasing the amount of oxygen and nutrients reaching these hair which then increases the growth of hair follicles.
Herbal remedies do promote hair follicle growth. These herbal remedies when applied to the scalp they remove toxins by stimulating increased blood flow. Certain ingredients of these herbal remedies inhibit some of the enzymes that are involved in the formation of compounds that affects growth of hair follicles. However when these compounds are removed as a result of the herbs will start to grow which will be evident through increased hair growth. Some of the herbal remedies can stimulate the removal of cholesterol that accumulates in the scalp. Cholesterol affects blood supply to hair as well as allowing dihydrotestosterone (DHT) to accumulate. DHT is a compound that retards growth.
Laser therapy can boost growth of hair. This is so for laser therapy stimulates the production of more red blood cells which will increase the amount of oxygen that is supplied to hair. Increased oxygen supplies increase the metabolic rate of hair which translates to increased growth of the hair.
