What is Halitosis
The easiest way of losing friends is having a bad breath. You will be the best judge to find it out, keep your palm close to your mouth and inhale the breath as you blow out.
Halitosis or bad breath may be due to a treatable dental problem such as an undiagnosed cavity or gum disease. Sometimes a broken filling can trap food particles in it and cause bad breath. No matter how hard we try to clean our teeth, we all experience an episode of bad breath at some point or the other.
Causes of Bad Breath
Bad dental hygiene is one of the main reasons of bad breath. When food particles get trapped between tooth cavities, they smell bad.
Gum disease (gingivitis) is considered a major cause and should see a dentist at the earliest.
Foods that contain strong pungent smells such as onions and garlic may cause a bad breath.
An upset stomach or constipation can also cause bad breath.
At times when the mouth has been remained closed for a very long time, the bacteria starts to grow and begins to stink.
Fasting also causes bad breath

Brush your teeth thoroughly 2 to 3 times a day and floss daily. Massage the gums and the tongue with the toothbrush or use a tongue cleaner.
Mix 1 tsp of salt to a glass of water and gargle it 3 times a day.
Mix a pinch of baking soda to your toothpaste. This keeps away bad breath.
Mix half tsp salt to 1 tsp of mustard oil and massage the gums with this. It tightens the gums and prevents gum disease and keeps away bad breath.
After a meal with garlic, onion, or cheese, you need to brush.
Dilute half tsp of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water and use this as a mouthwash. This is very effective in eliminating the bad breath.
Taking lemon, orange, or grapefruit is an effective way of fighting the bad breath, as the acid present in the fruit stops formation of any bacteria.
Chewing regularly fresh mint leaves or parsley leaves is another best known remedy for bad breath.
Carry with you some spices like cardamoms or cloves always and try chewing them often.
