One should not spend much money on whitening your teeth. Home teeth whitening methods are very economical, because very easily available household items can be used. There are many methods of using these house old items for home remedies. One of the oldest methods of teeth whitening is the use of a paste made of leaves of dry bay and orange peel.

The cheapest teeth whitener is the commonly used baking soda. Surface stains of teeth can be removed by regularly using a paste made up of baking soda and water. Another potential mix is a paste consisting of salt, baking soda and vinegar which is also very beneficial. One of the best methods is the use of a mouth wash consisting of apple cider vinegar and teeth whitener.

Eating of strawberries regularly is a natural remedial measure for teeth whitening as well as stain removal. You can also prepare a paste by adding equal amounts of lemon juice and salt and apply on the yellowing spots of your teeth to whiten your teeth. Always avoid drinking too hot and too cold beverages. Crushed walnut acts as a natural cleanser and prevents teeth yellowing and keeps teeth bacteria free. Brushing the stained teeth using scarlet sage leaves makes the teeth sparkling white and these leaves are also used in various medicines. Eating an apple after meal is also the easiest and most preferable method to get rid of yellow teeth.

Natural teeth whitening using home remedies can give positive results and save money. However, when choosing one of these methods, it is important to visualize any possible damaging effects to the teeth and gums, and safety precautions need to be taken to prevent them from occurring.

Methods using natural material do not have any side effects, even if you use it for a number of times daily. However, the bleaching method, which is a chemical process, may damage the teeth. Among the methods available it is very difficult to select the best method for teeth whitening.

Finally, it is suggested that cure is better than prevention. Brushing our teeth twice a day and the regular use of natural material and home remedial methods of teeth whitening gives excellent results and protects the teeth forever.

Natural Remedial Measures For Home Teeth Whitening That Anyone Can Try Today by Jamie Hawkings

That is why I decided to search online for safer ways to get my teeth whitened. In the process, I have found some teeth whitening solutions that can easily be done using household materials and are also safe to use. Even though this option would take longer than the visits to the dentist, it would be so much cheaper on your finances and you can do it from the comforts of your home. All you need to do is choose one of the tricks below and stick to the treatment and within two weeks, you might start seeing the results.

1. Hydrogen Peroxide & Baking soda: Start by combining ½ teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide with 1 teaspoon of baking soda. Mix this together and apply on teeth. Let it sit for 30 seconds and then rinse with warm water. You should do this at least once a week until you get the results you want. This solution is especially good for smokers as it removes stain and reduces tartar. The only drawback to this method is you cannot use it on sensitive teeth.

2. Strawberries: This is easy. Just cut the strawberry into easy to hold pieces and rub directly onto teeth. Leave it on and rinse after about 45 minutes. Again, repeat as required once a day until you achieve your desired results. Smokers and coffee drinkers will benefit from this fruity teeth whitening solution as strawberries have mild bleaching properties and the seed acts as little scrubbers on the teeth.

3. Kaolin & Vegetable glycerin: if you have no idea what Kaolin is, it is white cosmetic clay that is abrasive (mildly) and therefore can remove stains from teeth. You can start making your teeth whitening solution by combining 1 teaspoon kaolin with 1 teaspoon vegetable glycerin. Mix the two and apply onto a damp toothbrush. Brush like you normally would once a day. The vegetable glycerin is sweet to the taste making this mixture easier to use.

4. Milk of magnesia: if you are wondering what milk this is, trust me it did not come from any animal. This milk of magnesia is a liquid used as an antacid or a hydrating laxative. It has mineral magnesium and a milky white color, giving it its name. Since this liquid has both whitening and stain removing properties, it is ideal to be used a teeth whitening solution. Simply rub it on your teeth before bed and brush like normal in the morning. This treatment is suitable for people with sensitive teeth as it has no adverse effects to the gums.

The best you can do to take care of your white teeth is to avoid food and drinks that would stain your teeth. Eat more of spinach, broccoli and lettuce as these vegetables form a barrier over the teeth, protecting them from stains. Carrots, apples and celery need a lot of chewing and that means a lot of brushing action for the teeth.

Something about a bright white smile makes one feel young and confident. This is no new development. Since ancient times, a white smile has been a symbol of beauty and affluence. But how did people go about it before modern dentistry offered whitening gels and bleaching trays?

From Pharaohs to Barbers: Ancient Teeth Whitening

Like many dental techniques; attempts at teeth whitening began in ancient Egypt around 3000 B.C. White teeth in those days were rare – a sign of vitality and wealth. So, of course, the Pharaohs and their followers were anxious to find a way to cosmetically whiten teeth. Their solution would be the very first toothpaste, a concoction of pumice stone, wine vinegar, and ground oxen hooves that was applied using a primitive form of toothbrush called a chew stick.

Another ancient society that was known for its dental developments was that of ancient Rome. During the first century, Romans used wooden chew sticks to brush their teeth with human urine. While it may sound revolting, the idea was not completely ridiculous. The urine contained ammonia, which did in fact clean and whiten teeth.

Hundreds of years later, in 17th-century Europe, it was common practice for the local barber to provide dental services to his customers. The whitening formula of choice was a two-step process that required the barber to file the patient’s teeth before applying a corrosive acid. Needless to say, this treatment was none too healthy for the tooth enamel, but it did leave the teeth sparkling white. Patients were probably not so happy with their whitened teeth a few years later, when their teeth were lost due to advanced decay!

Evolution of Modern Teeth Whitening

In the late 1800s, dentists discovered that chlorine could be used as a bleaching agent to whiten teeth. This method was used throughout Europe and the United States for over one hundred years.

Hydrogen peroxide was not used as a teeth-whitening agent until the early 1900s when dentists began using it to bleach non-vital or “dead” teeth. The solution was also used for gum treatment during this time period, but it wasn’t until the 1940’s that peroxide bleaching was applied to vital teeth.

The idea of using bleaching trays for at-home teeth whitening was stumbled upon quite by accident in the 1960s by dentist William Klusimer. When Klusimer sent a patient home with a mouth tray and a peroxide solution intended to treat the gums, the patient returned with whiter teeth. Klusimer then developed various whitening techniques using bleaching trays and peroxide throughout the 1970s. The method became more widely accepted in 1989 when a more successful mixture of carbamide peroxide was created.

Since then, hundreds of teeth-whitening products have been developed, from chair-side formulas and custom home whitening trays to over-the-counter whitening strips. If you’re searching for the best method of teeth whitening for you, it is best to consult your dentist for a recommendation. Even though most modern teeth-whitening methods are safe, each individual has a different set of teeth with different dental risks. Only a professional dentist can recommend the safest and most effective method of teeth whitening for your smile.

Here are some extra tips to go along with this home remedy:
Don’t drink or eat dark foods aka pizza, red wine, coffee, red coloured foods or oily things for 2 hours after using the baking soda/peroxide whitening paste .. Your teeth are extra porous at this time, so be careful!
Drink EVERYTHING other than water through a straw to save your teeth from any more stains
Try not to wear white t-shirts before you are happy with the whiteness of your teeth. White clothing and accessories only accentuates a dull smile!

Hydrogen peroxide is a substance that has been found to be potentially toxic if it is ingested. While most teeth whitening procedures use it mixed with a gel, there is a possibility that a small amount may be swallowed during the procedure. Typically, small concentrations may not result in any side effects, but case studies on animals and emergencies involving this product and human indicate that there have been complications associated with swallowing larger concentrations of the substance. Erosions in the stomach area, burns to the tissue in the throat, distention related to abdominal gas, vomiting, ulcerations, and diarrhea may occur.

Individuals who experience an immediate allergic reaction to the high concentrations of hydrogen peroxide contained in professional teeth bleaching gel may result in an outbreak of hives, breathing complications, and swelling in and around the mouth, face, and throat area. If you are interested in having your teeth whitened, it is often best to select an at home teeth whitening kit. While these do contain peroxide, it is normally a very low percentage and has not been associated with serious health complications. Additionally, hydrogen peroxide teeth whitening systems may be substituted with at home systems that incorporate the use of Carbamide peroxide. While effective in removing stains from the teeth, this mild form of peroxide does not possess the same properties that may cause complications.

I've heard many friends and coworkers talk about this whitening product for your teeth call White Ice. It is pretty popular and considered one of the best teeth whitening product on the market. However, I do not instantly trust everything these days, especially hype and bogus claims. There are literally thousands of white teeth products that do not deliver what they promised. To really put White Ice teeth whitening solution to the test, me and couple of my coworkers went ahead and order a sample of this product.

Do research and find reviews

I went to did some research about this product and found that it is actually belongs to pretty trustworthy company. These White Ice teeth whitening lipsticks are widely sold at 1000 leading spas and salon all over the US. The regular retail in store cost is $ 60 and usually comes with a white teeth lipstick, toothpaste, and on the go teethwipes. However, a friend of mine actually found this one website where you can get the same thing for less than $ 3.

Ordering and receiving

So we did go ahead and order the White Ice teeth whitening trial kits through a review site. I received my shipment after 5 days. So I did follow the instruction on the kit and use the white toothpaste combining with the white lipstick once before bed and once in the morning. The great thing about the whitening lipstick is you can carry it anywhere and use it whenever you want. I continued applying the solution and use the freshening teethwipes after meals.

Results after 1 week usage

After 1 week using the White Ice teeth whitening kits, I found that my teeth become 6 shades brighter than before. I guess the product really works for me and I'm pretty happy with the results. One thing though, you have to stop or avoid eating dark berries like blueberries and cranberries. Instead, eat more apples, strawberries, and peaches because these fruits help clean your teeth and does not discolor them.

Side effects and risks

Almost every product on the market today has side effects. I have not seen much side effects from the White Ice teeth whitening solution, but it's better to be safe than sorry. If your teeth is more sensitive, make sure you check with your doctor or dentist before using any whitening products. If your teeth is really yellow, I suggest you go ahead and test out this product to see it for yourself.
