Rogaine is a powerful hair loss prevention medication that was first released in 1988. In fact, Rogaine was the very first product that was approved by the Food and Drug Administration that was specifically released to treat balding and thinning hair in both men and women. It went through years of clinical research and testing before being released to the public.

What Is Rogaine Made Of?

Rogaine gets its powerful effects from a drug named minoxidil. It comes as a lotion and is applied to the scalp area by rubbing a small amount into the skin. The good thing about Rogaine is that it is colorless and odorless. Nobody around you will be able to tell that you have a medicinal hair loss product rubbed into your scalp.

If Rogaine Came Out In 1988, Why Was Minoxidil Already On The Market Before Then?

For those of you who know the history of Rogaine and its amazing active ingredient, minoxidil, you are probably wondering why minoxidil was already being sold as a medication long before Rogaine was released in 1988. This is where the history of Rogaine becomes interesting.

Minoxidil was already on the pharmaceutical market and being sold in pill form. Individuals needed a doctor’s prescription in order to purchase minoxidil. Ironically enough, this drug was used to treat people suffering from high blood pressure. The product name that these pills were sold through was called Loniten.

How Loniten, A High-Blood Pressure Medication, Gave Birth To Rogaine

As mentioned above, Loniten was taken by many patients to lower their blood pressure. And guess what the key ingredient in this prescription pill was? Minoxidil.

After enough patients were taking this product, they did feel relief that their blood pressure was being treated, but they started to complain to their doctors about an interesting side effect: Hair Growth!

Now I would not exactly call this a negative complaint, as those patients that were experiencing thinning hair or bald patches had noticed an increase in new hair growth on parts of their scalp that had been completely bald for up to several years prior.

Too Much Hair Growth!

Unfortunately, new hair growth did not just pertain to the scalp. People that were taking the prescription medication for high blood pressure, Loniten, also started to see unwanted hair growing over other body parts. They were seeing new hair growth on their arms, back, chest, legs, everywhere! At first the doctors were very excited to have discovered a hair growth solution, but this extra hair growth created the problems.

Rogaine Is Born

As the old saying goes, every problem has with it the seed of a great solution. Doctors and researchers quickly tended to the side effects of this unwanted hair growth as a result of taking Loniten, which as you know contained the active ingredient minoxidil. What they did was create a topical lotion made up of minoxidil that could be applied separately to the scalp area.

This new lotion form would then have the ability to only grow hair on top of the head while not affecting the rest of the body. The results became an extraordinary a success in this new hair loss prevention product was titled Rogaine.

There are many hair loss treatments out there including transplant surgery, laser lamps, massage, and drugs which inhibit dihydrotestosterone or

There are many hair loss treatments out there including transplant surgery, laser lamps, massage, and drugs which inhibit dihydrotestosterone or dilate the blood vessels. They all seem to work to a degree but none of them provides very satisfactory results, and none of them has grown new hair on a completely bald scalp.

That’s because they treat only one half of the true genetic cause of hair loss.

The conventional wisdom is that hair loss is caused by dihydrotestosterone (DHT), which is the form of testosterone after it is acted on by 5 alpha reductase. The DHT gets into the follicles and puts them into a dormant state, causing them to produce finer and finer hair until they eventually die and stop producing hair altogether, and these follicles can supposedly never be re-activated. Although DHT plays an important role, it cannot be the only cause of hair loss because no man goes bald on the sides or back of the scalp, but only on top. These different areas are also exposed to DHT, so it makes no sense to say that DHT is the only explanation. There had to be some other unknown factor at work,.

There is in fact something unique about the anatomy of the top of the scalp and this is the missing piece of the puzzle.

It’s in the third layer of skin at the top of the scalp and it’s called the GALEA APONEUROTICA.

It is a tendon-like tissue which exists only on the top of the scalp. This GALEA looks like a helmet and its shape matches exactly the worst cases of male pattern baldness, all this makes all the pieces of the puzzle fit into place and one must conclude that it plays a role in hair loss. This GALEA is attached to muscles all around the perimeter of the head and these muscles pull on it and stretch it in all directions. That’s why all bald men look like they have a stretched, shiny scalp. This tightened GALEA chokes off the blood flow and this causes the DHT to have a greater damaging effect on the top of the scalp than anywhere else. In fact, we only go bald in those areas where this GALEA exists and nowhere else on the scalp.

The idea that this GALEA is involved in hair loss has been debated for years but its role was controversial. This new theory explains how this tight GALEA interacts with DHT to cause hair loss and MPB. It says hair loss is caused by two things; firstly, a tight GALEA, which blocks blood flow to the follicles, and only secondly, by DHT, which becomes trapped in the follicles due to this restricted blood flow, and which makes hair follicles go dormant and unable to grow new hair. Normally DHT is essential for proper hair growth but when it is trapped and clogs the follicles, it has negative effects.

But theories are useless if they do not lead to some practical benefits and practical solutions, so more importantly, this theory leads to a new method to stop hair loss and stimulate dormant follicles to grow hair again.

So to summarize, this new theory says:

“The true genetic cause of male pattern baldness and hair loss is a tight GALEA which exists only on the top of the head. This tight GALEA interferes with normal blood flow to the top of the scalp and prevents DHT from circulating as freely as it does on the sides and back of the scalp, where there is no GALEA. The DHT, which is normally beneficial to hair growth, now becomes trapped in receptors in the hair follicles at the top of the scalp, and now has negative consequences which eventually stops the follicles from making normal looking, terminal new hair.

Based on this theory, the treatment method first relaxes this GALEA and then uses ta special electrical device to stimulate the follicles into growing hair again. It is not a laser comb. This particular device has been used in other cosmetic applications and is an old established science.

ThIs method uses now drugs, no lotions and no surgery.

For younger men this method should work even faster and better because their follicles have not been formant for as long and are not as clogged with DHT as in older men.

Women also have a GALEA and it is logical to conclude that it gets tight just as it does in men, either because of genetics or because of stress. However, it’s obvious that the vast majority of women do not normally lose their hair. Based on this new two factor theory about the cause of hair loss it is logical toI conclude that most women do not lose their hair even if they have a tight GALEA because they do not have the second problem, which is elevated levels of testosterone or its by product DHT.

However, it is well known that many women do develop higher than normal testosterone levels, or their relative ratios of testosterone and estrogens changes at some point in their lives, whether after menopause or after childbirth, and that this causes them all kinds of other health problems.

For such women, if they lose their hair or their hair becomes thin, and it is not due to illness or chemotherapy, then it is logical to conclude that it is probably also due to the combined effects of this tight GALEA and their newly elevated levels of testosterone or DHT, in the same way as it causes hair loss in men.

Hair loss is a condition that affects billions of both men and women across the globe. Recent scientific advances have now made it possible to not only stop balding, but to completely reverse it. I know this because I have experienced this reversal first hand with a product known as Ultra Growth.

Best Hair Loss Treatment?

Ultra Growth has established itself as America’s Number 1 hair regrowth product. They have developed this reputation over many years of trading and are now seen as the only obvious choice in the industry, due to a great many satisfied customers.

What makes Ultra Growth so different from the competition? Well I’ll start by asking another question; what makes the others so bad? There are pills one can acquire that will promote follicle regrowth in men. The main product is known as Propecia. Propecia was advertised fairly heavily in the past decade, unfortunately, scary and mostly undocumented side effects have been found in regular users (which you need to be, if you want to maintain a full head of hair). Side effects include: impotence, low libido and erectile dysfunction, mainly because the drug in Propecia interferes with male sex hormones.

The only other option is a hair transplant, however these are very painful, expensive and not guaranteed to work. There’s a long road ahead of you if this is your choice.

How is Ultra Growth different? Well it’s all to do with how it is made. It contains 100% natural ingredients, which means no dry, itchy, red, flaky scalps. Rather than pills, Ultra Growth works through a topical application to the scalp, working right the way down into the hair roots where it starts to promote thickening and growth. It also works on both men and women. Probably the very best thing about using Ultra Growth is that once you see the re-growth, the hair is there to stay, it does not fall out once the round treatment is over. This means that the treatment doesn’t have to be continued for the effects to stay, which will save a patient literally thousands of dollars.

The Catch?

I guess there’s always a catch with a quality product such as this and it’s price. Well unless you were expecting it for free… You can pick up your first bottle for a very reasonable $9.95, which I think most people will be pleasantly surprised by. Depending on the level of growth required, you can expect to be applying the solution for anything between 3 months to 1 year for a person with total baldness. A bottle gives you one month’s supply of the solution and from this you can work out how much the total cost is going to be fairly easily.

Ultra Growth Reviews

How can you be sure that Ultra Growth is going to work? Well, be careful because the internet is littered with useless sites and information. Unfortunately many unscrupulous individuals have set up websites when they have never actually used it. It makes me really angry actually.

There’s only one proper site I’ve managed to find where you can view actual reviews and peoples experiences with using this product (it’s mine, so I’m a bit biased…). It’s a shame because it puts some people off and denies them the possibility of reversing their balding.

My True story Like many of you, I am also a victim of hair loss….. More and more Singaporean men

My True story

Like many of you, I am also a victim of hair loss…..

More and more Singaporean men are losing their ‘crowns of glory’ and this trend may be getting earlier and earlier. On the streets in these recent years, we may spot a relatively number of young men who are bald or balding. Compare this phenomenon to say ten years ago when this phenomenon is not commonly seen.

This balding trend among Singaporean men is sparking an increasing proliferation of hair treatment centres. Hair treatment centres have practically sprung up all over the island with the likes of Beijing 101, Yunnan, Svenson, Bossin, etc. Causes of hair loss can be hereditary, or caused by stress, drug medications, poor diets, oily scalp etc and these causes manifest into the many forms or types of hair loss such as male pattern baldness, telogen effluvium, alopecia areata, etc. A normal human loses about 50 to 100 hairs per day and this loss is not alarming.

However if more than this number is lost per day, one should seek a doctor before it is too late.Hair grows from follicles, and if one balds and takes no actions, the follicles will eventually die and there will be no more growth. It will be too late for any action. Note that when I say bald, normally a human will not go totally bald, the follicles at the sides of the human scalp, the parts above the years are programmed for life, and hair grows for life at these particular areas. Balding follows a pattern known as the Norwood chart. There are three stages of hair growth: anagen (the growing phase), catagen (the intermediate phase) and telogen (the shedding phase). Hair loss occurs when the hair grows and sheds fast.

The average life cycle of a hair is 2 to 3 years and each hair growth to fall can last 25 cycles, balding occurs when these cycles are accelerated and completed so fast that the cycles end, the follicles dies off and the hair can never grow back again. I understand in this post, there are many jargons and technical terms that are used. The internet offers a rich array of resources for which one can research in depth and understand more about hair loss. In this post, I will just roughly summarize what I understand and experience about hair loss from my studies and very own personal experiences. In the past, I have very thick volumes of hair so much so that I complained about having to go to the barber often as my hair grows so fast. Showering, there would be no hair lost as my hair is so strong. Following a medical treatment some two years ago from a supposedly reputable clinic and consuming the drug nimigen, I notice hair loss, my hair shed in the dozens on the bed and at the bathtub sinks daily so much so that I stopped taking this drug nimigen and stop the laser treatments.

During the consumption of nimigen, my complexion becomes too dry as it is supposed to prevent facial oiliness but it overdoes. Till today, I still do not know the real reason for my hair loss though I believe it has to do significantly with the laser treatment and the consumption of nimigen. On hindsight, I shall not have carried out with the treatment and the consumption of the medicine and this doctor still asked his nurses to force me back to continue with the remaining treatments and at the same time, refuting all my allegations squarely. I spent close to $3K only to lose even more. Anyway that is the past already and nothing can be done to turn back the clock. What I want to share with readers here are my experiences and what I have gone through to combat hair loss and hopefully it can provide some useful glimpses or lessons to those who are currently suffering from hair loss.Okay for the start, I first stopped all the causes that I believe have contributed to my hair loss and that is to discontinue with the medical treatments and the nimigen consumption. But even with that, two months down the road, the hair loss does not subside, so it was time to take some real actions.

From the internet, I came to learnt of two drugs called Propecia, an oral medication, costing about $95 dollars at that time for 28 pills, to be taken one pill a day; and a topical hair spray called minoxidil (called Regaine, Rogaine, Growell, etc in the market) also at a $95 for one bottle that can last a month.I went to a doctor and was prescribed Propecia, taking one pill a day for three months, after which I stopped.

Why do I stop? Firstly, there was no improvement and secondly, I began to experience what was mentioned as the side effects of this drug, i.e. I begin to feel less manly, though it was a minor side effect that the drug claimed and that it affect only a small percentage of users. With these two factors, I stopped using this drug and the less- than- manly feeling, which was temporary finally subsided. I did not use Minoxidil, as I also learnt of its side effects too. I want to list down the possible side effects of these two drugs here:Propecia: Lack of ‘manliness’Minoxidil: Increase scalp sensitivity, itchiness, dandruff, increase sensitivity to the sun. And the most important drawback of these two scientific proven drugs is that once you stop using these two drugs, whatever new hair that you have grow will fall again! Thus these two drugs are to be used for life! Imagine the cost involved to maintain these newly formed hair: $100 (for each of these treatments per month), this amount translates to $1200 and more per year, and so on……

So after ending the use of the Propecia, I began to explore natural ways of cure. One method that I thought of was using mild shampoo like Johnson Baby Shampoo, however its mild concentration was not strong enough to clear the oilness of my scalp. My hair loss may be due to oiliness and dandruff as I did notice these symptoms like dandruff on my pillow.

So I decided to explore the help of professionals and there was a vast array of choices from the dermatogists and hair treatment centres. I went to one such hair treatment centre for a free consultation and these ‘professionals’ scanned my hair, only to reveal many patches of oil and these ‘professionals’ introduced me a package to clear my scalp greasiness. The package cost a bomb and I did not like the pushiness of these professional in introducing these packages to me. Also I have heard many stories of people having spent more than $10,000 on these supposedly good cures only to lose even more hair or having no improvement seen, besides wasting their hard-earned money! Thus, hair treatment centres scared me off at that point and I decided to consult a top hair dermatologist in Singapore instead. It was not cheap. First consultation alone cost $80. The dermatologist inspected my hair and said there was nothing wrong. She prescribed me with two shampoo, Nizoral ($25) and a Gentle Shampoo ($21) to be rotated interchangeably daily and a sebum regulator to be applied on the scalp at night after washing ($18).

However, there was still no improvement.

In fact, the residue from the sebum regulator produced tiny sticky white residue on my hair once my hair dried to the extent that my colleagues thought my hair had dandruff. Anyway my hair was still very oily and coated with some dandruff too, despite applying the supposedly strong and beneficial shampoos that the top dermatologist prescribed. I confirmed this fact when I popped into one of the hair treatment centre at a shopping centre for curiosity and did a free consultation with the centre. The ‘scanner’ that the centre operators used magnified my scalp glands many times over, revealing the oily spots, it really look disgusting with such a hundred times over magnification of the sebaceous scalp glands. The operators said my scalp glands were choked with oil, and this may cause hair loss; but I did not want to take any chance with this centre and off I left. I went for a second consultation with the dermatologist I saw previously. Again, the dermatologist said there was nothing wrong with my hair or with my scalp and the results from the ‘hair-pull’ test she carried out on me revealed no extraordinary hair loss.

After hearing the story of the medical treatment I did and the drug nimigen I consumed, she suspected that it may be telogen effluvium caused by the medication, a condition which could only go away in times to come; though my oily scalp may be a contributing factor too. She told me that she could not do anything except to help me diagnose the cause of my hair loss via a scalp biopsy ($589) and a blood test ($169); all price stated without GST. Hearing the prices, I hesitated but in an urge to find out the real cause, I decided to take the plunge and carried out the scalp biopsy and the blood test.I did the blood test first and the pain was nothing compared to the scalp biopsy I undergone later on. It was no joke, having a piece of your head scalp being removed surgically and the pain was terrible despite the application of anaesthetics prior to the treatment. After both the tests, the nurse rubbed a Bactroban cream on the part of my scalp which was operated on to kill the bacteria; after sewing this part of the scalp. There was still little pain that subsisted every time I shampoo the sewn part of the scalp. I was told to come back two weeks later to remove the stitch and to obtain the results of the diagnosis. I was given the remaining of the Bactroban cream to apply daily on the affected scalp to ease the pain and kill the bacteria. Two weeks later, I returned to the same clinic to remove the stitch and the dermatologist handed me the result; and the result indicated that it was telogen effluvium.

The dermatologist said it was good news as this condition which may be due to the medication I took would finally subside after some time. I would be waiting for this to come soon. But alas, days pass and then months, it was futile. Seeing tons and tons of hair on the bathroom sink and waking up everyday to witness the hundreds of hair strewn across my bed and on my bedroom floor did nothing to assuage me that my illness would go away. The visits to the dermatologist have also drained me financially and in a desperate move, I decided to try out some off-the-counter hair loss products available at pharmacies. I tried the Himalyan Hair Loss Cream (Herbal) for about one month but it was useless so I went to see the dermatologist again for the fourth and fifth time (that was in April and May last year), but again the dermatologist assessed and said there was nothing wrong with my hair, no male pattern loss or whatever. But indeed, my hair was getting thinner and thinner by the day.

She prescribed me with stronger shampoos and sebum regulator which I used without seeing any improvements. It was at this time that I finally decided not to see the dermatologist again as there was simply no use at all! Hair continued to fall and fall. From then on (Jun 07), I have ‘more or less accepted my fate’ and accepted my hair loss fact. I tried Kaminomoto Hair Growth Accelerator and a good shampoo called Melaleucca Shampoo recommended by my friend but it was really no use at all. The telogen effluvium which I was diagnosed with did not seem to be the hair illness that struck me as it simply did not stop within a short period. It was over one year and my hair still continued to fall like rain. Over the whole of this hair loss ordeal, I carried out numerous researches on hair loss over the internet, which further equipped me with all knowledge concerning hair loss. I tried all I could, from observing what I consumed (less oil), watching my diet, exercising regularly and even cutting down on some coffee and tea. But it did not help in the loss.

I have also shared my findings with others on an internet discussion forum posting and the thread saw some 55,000 odd readers before it was finally removed by the administrator. With my knowledge learnt from the internet and my ordeal, I shared with some of these forumers; some of them even emailed me to ask questions. For hair loss, there is really no one fixed miracle panacea: what works for one may not work for others. The hair loss did affect my life a bit: waking up in the morning and after shampooing, I counted the number of strands of hair that I lost and any fewer in count would make me slightly happier. I used to enjoy the wind but now I avoid being ‘confronted’ with a gust of wind for fear that the wind would blow off some of my hair. It does not help that Singapore can get breezy at times! And definitely, my self-esteem would suffer a bit of loss and it did not help that I am still without a girlfriend at my age! Hair loss would certainly dealt me a serious disadvantage in this ‘image-conscious’ society; though it may not be always true: I still do my fair share of admirers as some girls are not particular over looks.Entering the MRT daily, I always observed young man at different stages of balding; sometimes I saw friends who I have not seen for some years completely bald!

This shocked me and brought me to the reality that balding in Singapore is not just MY problem, it is OUR problem! Is it due to stress in this fast-paced society of ours? Or is it due to the diet here that causes more young men and even women to bald?

Procerin’s clinically proven, scientific formula is a 100% natural hair loss foam available without a prescription. Procerin has been clinically proven to be an effective dihydrotestosterone (DHT) blocker. Procerin’s formulation of herbs and minerals revitalize hair follicles before they start to shrink and become inactive and awaken dormant hair follicles. Procerin XT Foam will enlarge the follicle opening, allowing Procerin to penetrate deep within the hair follicles to regenerate hair growth to achieve a fuller, stronger and thicker head of hair. While there are several causes of hair loss, Procerin is effective in combating hair loss in men caused by androgenetic alopecia, also known as male pattern baldness. This type of hair loss typically includes a receding hairline and thinning around the crown of the head. Procerin contains all-natural, powerful DHT blockers that have been proven in university and clinical studies worldwide. Unlike some products that promise the same solution for male or female hair loss, Procerin is specifically developed for men only. Procerin’s active ingredients are scientifically developed to target the specific enzyme that converts the male hormone testosterone into DHT. Testosterone is converted by the enzyme 5 Alpha-Reductase (5AR) into DHT, which attaches to androgen receptors in the scalp and kills the genetically susceptible hair follicles at the crown and temple area. Procerin is the convenient solution to hair loss, available without a prescription, no harsh chemicals and no sexual side effects. Procerin’s XT Foam ingredients include: saw palmetto, rooibos, grape seed extract, oleic acid, linoleic acid, evening primrose oil, avocado oil, Panthenol, peppermint oil and Capixyl.Includes: (1) 1 fl oz XT Foam
Clinically Proven: Procerin is Formulated Specifically to Fight Male Hair Loss.
Results: Procerin’s benefits are greatest for men whose hair is still in a growth phase.
Performance: All-Natural Supplement for Hair Loss Prevention & Powerful DHT Blockers for Growth.
Safe: Procerin is High Quality, All-Natural, Available Without a Prescription & Zero Side Effects.

Do you want to grow your hair faster?

It’s a known fact of life: Girls are always changing their hair. They grow it out for years, just to realize that they want their hair to be short. After a week of short hair, they realize that they miss their long hair and start the cycle all over again. Actually, in today’s world of the “Justin Bieber Hairstyle,” a lot of guys are even trying to grow their hair faster.

Well, personally, my hair is still recovering up from a bad haircut. It was basically chopped into a mullet and has never fully recovered. Because I want to grow my hair long faster, like you, and I am sick of putting in my extensions every day, I am going to teach you ways that will legitimately help your hair grow faster.

1. Try To Keep Your Hair From Damaging

The first thing you can do to help grow your hair faster is to eliminate sources of damage.

Just so you know, I am the *queen* of damaged hair.

I can’t even count how many times I have colored my hair black, just to bleach it back to platinum blonde again, and back and forth.

The last time that I colored my hair platinum blonde, I committed to keeping it that way. I try to go as long as possible in between hair colors to give it time to heal. People ask me all the time how my hair is so healthy, soft and shiny, even though I bleach it. I am constantly reconditioning it in between colors. I really like the It’s a 10 Miracle Hair Masque. When I am at home, doing chores, I’ll put some conditioner in my hair, put a plastic bag around it, and leave it. Sometimes, I will even sleep with it in my hair. I also try to keep my flat-iron use minimal. If you do flat-iron your hair every day, do use a protectant /conditioning spray, like the HealthySexyHair “Soya Want Flat Hair Flat Iron Spray”, which infuses your hair with protein as you use it. I also use protein shampoo/conditioner often. Dumb Blonde by Bedhead is my favorite. Keep in mind that your hair needs more than just protein. I live in Nevada, where there is usually about 0% humidity, so every once in a while I use a Moisturizing Shampoo. My favorite is Bedhead Urban Antidotes Recovery Level 2. To read more about keeping bleached hair healthy, click here. You’ll never be able to grow your hair faster, if you are creating constant breakage. Okay, now that we understand how vital it is to keep your hair healthy…

2. Trim Your Hair Every 6 Weeks

A lot of people don’t think cutting your hair will help it grow faster. And although, it doesn’t make it grow faster, it will eliminate split ends, which could lead to shorter hair. The best analogy I have ever heard, is to think of your hair like a piece of rope. When rope starts to fray, you have to burn the piece that is frayed, or else it will continue to fray further up the rope. If you have split ends, and you don’t trim them, they may continue to split further up your hair, causing breakage. Breakage means shorter hair. We can’t have that if we are trying to grow it out faster.

You don’t have to cut a lot of hair off. Just be very sure to express to your hair stylist that you only want to trim the tips of your hair because you are trying to grow it out, and want the split ends cut off. Also be sure to let them know not to cut off more than a quarter/half-inch. The better communication you give to your stylist, the better he/she can understand what you want and deliver it to you.

3. Take Vitamins

You probably always hear that prenatal vitamins make your hair grow faster. I have researched that topic a lot in the past, and it turns out that an abundance of hormones produced while pregnant is what really makes your hair grow, not the prenatal vitamins.

Here is a hair lesson: For normal people, at any given time, 90% of their hair is in the growth phase, while the other 10% is in a resting phase. This is why your hair grows uneven after a haircut. After the resting phase, your hair follicle prepares for the shedding phase. It is normal for anyone to lose about 50-100 hair strands per day.

The increased level of estrogen present in pregnant women causes ALL of your hair to stay in it’s growing phase. Therefore, you are not losing any hair (which gives the impression that your hair is growing faster). Hair texture and color have also been noted to change during pregnancy. Now keep in mind, before you rush out to get pregnant, that pregnant women lose a TON of hair after they have a baby. This is because the estrogen level drops back down to normal, and they shed all of the hair that they didn’t lose while they were pregnant.

So even if prenatal vitamins are a bust, there are still other vitamins that help your hair grow faster. Vitamins rich in B-complex are known to help your hair grow a great deal. Vitamin B-complex contains biotin, folic acid and insositol which help rotate the growth cycle of your hair quicker than it did before. There is even vitamin B-complex shampoo that is said to help your hair grow faster. It is said that flax-seed oil, vitamin E, and vitamin A all also help grow your hair faster. Personally, I have used the Nioxin Vitamins that are designed for growing hair, and also “hair, skin and nails” pills, and have seen positive effects with both of them.

4. Eliminate factors that impede hair growth

Keep in mind, that every thing you put in your body comes out through your hair. Different types of medications cause different reactions to your hair. Sometimes, medications will cause a color or perm to not take, and also some can make your hair fall out. Your hair will not grow faster if you are constantly losing hair. Common types of medications that cause hair loss are Acne medications, antibiotics, antidepressants, birth control, anti-clotting pills, cholesterol lowering, drugs that suppress the immune system, epilepsy drugs, drugs used in breast cancer, high-blood pressure medications, hormone replacement, mood stabilizers, steroids, weight-loss drugs and thyroid medications. It does depend on what dosage you take and how sensitive you are to them. I don’t know much about the health industry, so I would recommend talking to a doctor about what you take.

Now medications are a hard thing to deal with because many of us need our drugs. But another thing to keep in mind is that if you are unhealthy, so is your hair. Eating healthier food, drinking a lot of water, not smoking/drinking alcohol are all factors that play a part in hair growth.

Another big problem is stress. Stress does a number of horrific things to your body but can also trigger hair loss. It’s easier said than done sometimes, but try to de-stress if you want your hair to grow faster.

5. Stimulate your scalp

There’s an old wives tale that states if you brush your hair 100 times every night before you go to sleep, it will make your hair grow faster. Not only is that not true, but brushing your hair is actually bad for your hair. The bristles get caught in small tangles and usually rip hair out, creating our enemy: breakage. When your hair is wet, you should comb it with a wide-tooth comb to help eliminate breakage.

There is something called “Scientific Brushing” that is said to help grow hair faster though. It is vital that you use a natural bristle brush and remember, you are brushing it against your scalp, not your hair. You brush all around your hairline first, then you brush in 1/2 inch subsections throughout your scalp. When you brush, do a rolling motion. The bristles stimulate and bring blood flow to your scalp, which encourages hair to grow faster. Do this before you shampoo your hair. I would also comb it first to make sure there are no tangles. Scientific brushing can also help with dandruff.

When you shampoo your hair, really massage your scalp. This does the same thing as the scientific brushing. Sometimes, it’s even better to shampoo your hair twice so you get a better lather. I would spend a few minutes massaging your scalp. Not only does it help, but it also feels good!

6. Nioxin / Invati

Working in the hair industry, I have heard a ton of good things about Nioxin. In fact, I had one client that specifically told me that it was so weird because hair was growing so much, and she had a lot of new growth. She couldn’t figure out why it was growing. I asked her what she used. She said “Nioxin”. I told her that Nioxin is formulated to make your hair grow and she didn’t even know that. Now she’s hooked on it for life. She will buy another bottle before she even runs out, so she never has to go without it. It works by detoxifying your scalp, removing and neutralizing toxins, cleaning out the pores, and reducing scalp inflammation. It also cleanses hormones from the hair follicle that causes male pattern baldness.

It’s a controversial topic if Nioxin actually works or not to make hair grow faster. The answer is it works differently on everyone. I’ve heard people say that they’ve used it for months upon months and seen no difference. I also know people who swear by it. It is not known if it actually makes your hair grow faster or just stops you from losing hair. Either way, I believe it works, and the fact that it keeps your scalp healthy, can’t hurt. I know that the best results are seen when the cleanser, scalp therapy conditioner, and the scalp treatment (which you spray on after you get out of the shower) are all used. I recommend a starter kit like this one. I also know that it takes a few months to start seeing noticeable results. I have heard people say that they think Nioxin dries their hair out, but my own personal experience is that it makes my hair feel very soft and hydrated when I use it.

Yesterday, it was brought to my attention that there is a new product similar to Nioxin, made by Aveda, called Invati. I can’t really tell you anything about it, but it is supposed to work well, and Aveda is at trustworthy name, so I would expect it to be good.

7. Eat a lot of protein

I know someone who is getting a gastrointestinal bypass real soon. The doctors instructed her that she needs to eat a lot of protein before, and after the surgery. The doctor told her that all the extra protein will make her hair grow faster. It makes sense, right? Hair is composed of 80% protein. If your body is not getting enough protein, it may not have enough to give your hair follicles, and therefore your hair will grow slower.

8. Rogaine

If all else fails, there is always Rogaine. Rogaine is the only FDA approved, over-the-counter topical medication that is actually proved to make your hair grow faster. Minoxidil is the active ingredient in Rogaine, and exactly how it works is unproven. It was originally a drug used to treat high blood pressure, but it turns out that it works better for growing hair than keeping blood pressure down. A 16 week study showed that 85% of people using it correctly experienced new hair growth. Only mild side-effects have been reported, including scalp irritation and itching. I say its worth a shot!

A receding hairline can make you look many years older than you actually are; not surprisingly, most men who develop

A receding hairline can make you look many years older than you actually are; not surprisingly, most men who develop one want to get rid of it as quickly as possible. Although there are many treatments available today that claim to fight off a receding hairline, many of them are gimmicks and don’t provide any real results. Men find themselves becoming more and more frustrated and aggravated as they try product after product, with nothing to show for their efforts except an empty wallet. Fortunately, there are all natural thinning hairline product that can reverse male pattern baldness and give you back a full head of hair.

You’ve surely heard many big promises from numerous different manufacturers out there regarding your receding hairline. If you’re like many guys, you’ve probably even endured painful surgeries and unpleasant side effects that come along with many kinds of prescription hair loss drugs. Incredibly, though, natural receding hairline products require no prescription and are completely noninvasive. Instead, you simply take their all natural oral pills or apply their topical serums once per day in order to begin getting after the root cause of male pattern baldness: increased levels of DHT (dihydrotestosterone) in the body.

A little-known fact about male pattern baldness and increased levels of DHT in the body is that much of it is triggered by the 5AR enzyme. If not for that enzyme, many cases of receding hairline would never have occurred in the first place. If you have a receding hairline, chances are that high levels of DHT – triggered by the 5AR enzyme – are to blame. Although this is a complex scientific process, the makers of the leading natural hair loss products have developed a formula that uses all natural ingredients to stop the 5AR enzyme in its tracks and keep levels of DHT from skyrocketing.

A Proven Solution

DHT binds itself to androgen receptors in your scalp, ejecting existing hair and creating an inhospitable environment for new hair to grow back in. In the case of a receding hairline, this phenomenon is centered on the front of a man’s scalp. A hair loss product can block the 5AR enzyme, rendering it useless and unable to interact with testosterone. When it can’t do that, the byproduct of that interaction – DHT – never has a chance to increase. All told, DHT blockers similar to it can put an end to a receding hairline and can even promote new hair growth.
