Can ‘Spermbot’ Solve Male Infertility?

A motorized device, branded a “spermbot,” which can deliver slow-swimming, but healthy sperm to an egg, has been developed by a team of German scientists from the Institute for Integrative Nanosciences in Dresden. The team created a miniature polymer helix, which they then coated in nickel and titanium so that it could be controlled magnetically to carry sperm to the wall of an egg. Is “spermbot” the answer to male infertility? We look at the invention on the Lip News with Jose Marcelino Ortiz and Jo Ankier.
